Do not be overcome by evil,
but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:21

Welcome

My name is Hans Kaufman. I am a 35-year-old husband, father, seminary student, web-developer, apartment manager, Bible study shepherd, and servant of Christ. My heart belongs to my wife (Julia) and daughters (Emma & Olivia).

Originally from Indiana, we moved to California so I could attend The Master’s Seminary. Formerly, I worked web-related jobs through school, secured my first position at a Fortune 30 company, and completed a 5½ year contract in conjunction with Central Medicare Services. I have trained professors as well as professionals, streamlined processes, written manuals, and developed multimedia solutions with tight turn-around times. However, my passion has always been anchored in love for Christ and His church.

We are members of Grace Community Church where I am a deacon and employed full-time as a web developer. I also co-shepherd the weekly Doulos Van Nuys Bible study. Additionally, my wife and I are nursery scheduling coordinators for the Doulos fellowship group and apartment managers for two properties in the San Fernando Valley. For recreation, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, and writing short stories.

Preaching and teaching God’s Word has consumed me during our stay in California. I have preached at our sending church (the Bible Church of Brownsburg) on return visits home and frequently taught at friends’ churches in the San Fernando Valley area. Presently, I am teaching through 1 Peter at our Friday night Bible study after spending a year and a half in Galatians. My hope is to continue preaching and teaching as often as possible in order to more effectively communicate God’s truth.

Whatever the Lord has for me to do, my desire is to do it well. With the additional blessing of our first child, increased employment opportunities, and the pursuit of ministry... I chose to relax the aggressive pace of seminary completion by adding a semester to our stay. I am projected to graduate May 2017.
